Karachi: Frontier Ceramics Limited has reported its financial results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026, revealing a net turnover of 1,061.8 million rupees, a decrease of 8.10% from the previous year's 1,155.4 million rupees. This financial disclosure comes amid a challenging economic landscape characterized by subdued demand in the tile market and a slowdown in private sector development.
According to the report released on October 30, 2026, the company achieved a gross profit of 103.6 million rupees, up from 102.4 million rupees in the same period last year. Operating profit slightly decreased to 77.4 million rupees from 78.6 million rupees. However, profit before taxation rose to 101.0 million rupees compared to 69.4 million rupees in the previous year, leading to a profit after taxation of 78.9 million rupees, a significant increase from 44.3 million rupees.
Despite the reduction in net turnover, the company's gross margins improved to 9.76% from 8.86% in the previous year. This was attributed to strategic measures including timely price revisions and product improvements. The directors noted that higher other income and lower finance costs contributed positively to the company's performance.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Frontier Ceramics Limited's earnings per share rose to 2.08 rupees from 1.17 rupees, reflecting the company's efforts to sustain operations and achieve better-than-expected results in a challenging market environment.
The domestic economy continues to experience modest growth, with early signs of recovery in the construction sector. However, the overall outlook for the tile industry remains dependent on supportive government policies to stimulate construction and related industries. Management remains focused on navigating these challenges while seeking opportunities for growth and improvement.
