Karachi: Aruj Industries Limited has reported its financial results for the first quarter ending September 30, 2026, revealing a significant deepening in its net loss. The company’s financial statement, released on October 30, 2026, indicates a substantial deterioration in its fiscal health compared to the same period last year.
The textile sector company recorded a net loss of 13.67 million rupees for the quarter, a very large move from the 7.29 million rupees loss reported for the same period in 2025. This escalation is attributed primarily to an increased cost of sales, which more than doubled to 12.49 million rupees from 5.39 million rupees a year earlier.
Operating expenses showed a reduction, with administrative and general expenses amounting to 1.18 million rupees, down from 1.89 million rupees in the previous year. Despite this decrease, the overall operating loss expanded to 13.67 million rupees from 7.29 million rupees.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the lack of sales revenue compounded the losses, as the company reported no sales for the quarter. The absence of any recorded sales revenue further exacerbated the financial strain, as no offsetting income was available against the incurred costs.
The financial costs, albeit minimal, were recorded at 122 rupees, marking their first appearance in the company’s quarterly results. No other income was reported, and there was no provision for taxation or workers' profit participation fund, maintaining the loss before and after taxation at 13.67 million rupees.
Additionally, the loss per share has nearly doubled, reaching 1.31 rupees compared to 0.70 rupees in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The figures underscore the challenges Aruj Industries faces in stabilizing its financial position amid a downturn in operational performance.
