Attock Petroleum Limited Reports 36% Increase in Net Sales Revenue Amidst Industry Challenges

Karachi: Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has announced significant financial results for the first quarter ending on September 30, 2026, with a notable 36% increase in net sales revenue compared to the same period last year. The company's net sales revenue rose to Rs. 160.55 billion from Rs. 117.78 billion in the previous year, driven primarily by elevated selling prices and a 10% increase in overall sales volume.

The company's gross profit saw an upward trend, reflecting changes in petroleum product prices, sales volumes, and strategic inventory management. However, net finance income experienced a slight decline of 2%, influenced by movements in benchmark interest rates affecting returns from bank deposits and financial investments. Consequently, APL reported a profit after taxation of Rs. 6.64 billion, a 74% increase from Rs. 3.81 billion in the corresponding period last year. Earnings per share also saw a rise, standing at Rs. 53.36, up from Rs. 30.63.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's financial performance was achieved against the backdrop of challenging macroeconomic conditions, with business activities being impacted by inflationary pressures, energy costs, and financing conditions. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East contributed to volatility in international petroleum prices, affecting product costs and domestic demand.

Despite these challenges, APL maintained the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across its retail and institutional networks. The company efficiently handled significant volumes of imported PMG and export LSFO cargoes, while no major environmental incidents or Lost Time Injuries were reported.

In its efforts to expand its retail network, APL commissioned five new retail outlets and phased out six underperforming sites, bringing its operational network to 816 outlets, including 46 Company-Owned Company-Operated (COCO) sites. Development activities focused on key markets, with new outlets commissioned in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and construction commencing on APL's first Company-operated filling station in Peshawar.

APL also diversified its revenue streams beyond conventional petroleum products, witnessing growth in LPG, electric vehicle charging, and Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) activities. The LPG facility's plant throughput increased to approximately 40 metric tons per day, while the company expanded its EV charging infrastructure in collaboration with strategic partners. The NFR business progressed with agreements with national and international food chains and the development of APL's branded car-care products, slated for commercial launch during the current financial year.

These initiatives underscore APL's focus on broadening revenue streams, enhancing customer convenience, and meeting the evolving demands of the retail market.
