Baluchistan Glass Limited Reports Zero Revenue Amid Production Halt

Karachi: The financial landscape for Baluchistan Glass Limited, a key player in Pakistan's glass manufacturing sector, faced significant challenges during the first quarter of the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026. The company's inability to generate revenue during this period underscores the operational difficulties it encountered.

On October 30, 2026, the Directors of Baluchistan Glass Limited presented the un-audited Condensed Interim Financial Statements, revealing a net sales figure of zero, a stark contrast to the Rs. 13.979 million recorded in the same quarter of the previous year. This decline was attributed to the complete suspension of manufacturing operations across all three production units, driven by inadequate and inconsistent gas pressure, high energy tariffs, and adverse cost dynamics.

The financial documentation highlighted a gross loss of Rs. 56.057 million, primarily comprising fixed and unabsorbed overheads from idle facilities. This figure marks a 20% improvement over the previous year's Rs. 70.485 million, largely due to a lower depreciation charge and effective cost control measures. Administrative expenses were reported at Rs. 4.776 million, while finance costs increased to Rs. 57.012 million, reflecting reliance on financing from related parties to meet working capital needs.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Baluchistan Glass Limited posted a post-tax loss of Rs. 116.254 million, showing a 7% improvement from the Rs. 124.926 million loss in the corresponding period of the prior year. The basic and diluted loss per share was Rs. 0.18, compared to Rs. 0.20 previously.

The company's management remains actively engaged with gas authorities and other stakeholders to secure a reliable gas supply, with a focus on Unit-I's technical and commercial viability. The company's sponsors and associated entities have reaffirmed their commitment to providing ongoing financial and technical support, aiming to resume production when gas supply and energy conditions improve.
