Consortium Including Fatima Fertilizer Pre-Qualified for PIA Bid

Karachi: Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, as part of a consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation Limited, has been pre-qualified to participate in the bidding process for the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL). This development was announced following the submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) and Statement of Qualification (SOQ) to the Privatisation Commission of Pakistan.

The consortium, which includes Arif Habib Corporation Limited, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, City Schools (Private) Limited, and Lake City Holdings (Private) Limited, is one of four parties that have been declared pre-qualified. The Privatisation Commission confirmed this in Press Release No. 11/2025, available on its official website. The pre-qualified parties will now advance to the buy-side due diligence phase, a critical step in the competitive privatisation process of PIACL.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the consortium's participation in the process will depend on the results of the due diligence exercise and further guidance from the Board of Directors. Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited has committed to providing updates on the progress, subject to confidentiality obligations and considerations of national interest.

The disclosure was made in accordance with Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the Rule Book of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited. The privatisation process is being monitored closely by market participants, and the outcome could have significant implications for the aviation sector.
