Hub Power Company Ltd Announces 50% Interim Dividend on Ordinary Shares

Karachi: The Hub Power Company Limited, a prominent player in the energy sector, has declared an interim cash dividend of Rs. 5 per share, equating to a 50% distribution on its ordinary shares. This decision was made during a Board of Directors meeting held on October 28, 2026, and was officially reported on October 30, 2026.

Shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members by the close of business on November 9, 2026, will be eligible to receive the dividend. The company has announced that its Share Transfer Books will remain closed from November 10 to November 12, 2026, encompassing both dates.

In accordance with the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the withholding of tax on dividends will be enforced at a rate of 15% for shareholders listed on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) and 30% otherwise. The company will verify the tax status of its members as of the first day of the book closure. Shareholders are encouraged to provide their National Tax Number (NTN) to the relevant participants if they hold CDC accounts or to the company's Share Registrar, Messrs. FAMCO Share Registration Services (Private) Limited, if they possess share certificates.

Joint shareholders must submit their shareholding proportions to the Share Registrar by November 9, 2026. Absent this submission, it will be presumed that shares are held equally among joint holders. Tax deductions on joint accounts will be made based on individual tax filer status.

To facilitate electronic transfers, shareholders are advised to provide bank mandate details, ensuring that the bank account title matches the shareholder's name. This information should be submitted to the relevant participants for those with CDC accounts, and to FAMCO Share Registration Services for those holding physical certificates.

Shareholders who wish to be exempt from tax deductions must submit a valid income tax exemption certificate to the Share Registrar before the book closure date. Furthermore, any changes in registered address or declarations for non-deduction of zakat should be communicated to the Share Registrar or the CDC, as applicable.
