Invest Capital Reports Decline in Profits as Asset Base Expands

Karachi: Invest Capital Investment Bank Limited has published its annual report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, revealing a decline in profits alongside an increase in its total asset base. The report, released on October 5, 2026, presents a nuanced financial portrait of the bank's operations over the past year.

Total assets increased to 1.67 billion rupees in 2026 from 1.57 billion rupees in 2025, marking a significant move of 6.25%. The bank's financial position reflects a strategic expansion in its asset base, including notable increases in non-current assets such as net investment in finance lease and long-term loans. These categories reported values of 265.47 million rupees and 311.51 million rupees, respectively.

However, the financial outcomes were mixed. Profit after tax decreased to 87.52 million rupees in 2026 from 126.74 million rupees in the previous year, representing a very large or significant move of -30.96%. The earnings per share also dropped from 2.944 to 2.033.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the bank's performance in its investment portfolios and financial operations contributed to these results. Income from leasing operations increased, reaching 57.17 million rupees compared to 46.82 million rupees last year, while income from finances saw a decline, dropping to 58.25 million rupees from 72.67 million rupees.

The bank's equity and liabilities also showed shifts, with the total equity at 788.76 million rupees and total liabilities at 876.40 million rupees. The issued, subscribed, and paid-up capital stood at 430.53 million rupees, reflecting structural changes from the previous year.

Despite the challenges, Invest Capital's strategic maneuvers in expanding its asset base suggest a focus on long-term growth and stability. The bank's management has not disclosed specific future strategies but is expected to continue refining its investment and operational approaches in response to the evolving financial landscape.
