Pakistan Stock Exchange Suspends Trading for Eight Companies Due to Regulatory Failures

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) announced on Thursday that trading in the shares of eight companies will be suspended, citing multiple regulatory defaults. The suspension, effective from August 3, 2025, is set to last until the identified issues are resolved or for a period of 60 days.

The companies affected include Regal Ceramics Limited, Azmat Textile Mills Limited, Kaiser Arts & Krafts Limited, Pakistan Industrial & Commercial Leasing Ltd., Dadabhoy Sack Limited, Nina Industries Limited, Investec Mutual Fund Limited, and Salman Noman Enterprises Ltd. Each of these companies has failed to comply with several regulations set by the PSX, which include holding annual general meetings, submitting annual audited accounts, and paying dues to the exchange.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Regal Ceramics Limited and Investec Mutual Fund Limited face winding-up petitions filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and have appointed official liquidators. Similarly, Salman Noman Enterprises Ltd. has a winding-up petition filed in court and has additionally faced a disclaimer of opinion in its audit report, which signifies a significant move in its operational challenges.

Dadabhoy Sack Limited and Salman Noman Enterprises Ltd. have both ceased commercial production in their principal line of business, contributing to the suspension decision. These companies, excluding Dadabhoy Sack Limited, have also not inducted their ordinary shares into the Central Depository System (CDS), further compounding their compliance issues.

The PSX's decision is executed under the authority provided by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations. This measure highlights the exchange's commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance and transparency within the market. The designated market category for these companies will remain suspended until corrective measures are taken to rectify the defaults.
