Islamabad: PIA Holding Company Limited has applied to the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan for an extension to hold its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year ended December 31, 2024. The company seeks to extend the deadline for this meeting to August 20, 2025, citing the need for additional time to complete the audit of its financial statements.
The application for the extension was submitted in compliance with Section 132 of the Companies Act, 2017, and Regulation 31 of Companies Regulations, 2024. According to the company's registration details, PIA Holding Company Limited was incorporated on March 21, 2024, and is based in Islamabad. Its first AGM is initially required to be held by July 20, 2025, in accordance with statutory requirements.
The primary reason for the requested extension is the pending completion of the company's audit. The management is in the process of finalizing the financial statements, which they expect to complete during the week beginning July 14, 2025. A certificate from the company's external auditor, dated July 08, 2025, has been attached to the application to confirm the current status of the accounts and the reasons for the delay.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PIA Holding Company Limited has provided all necessary documentation to support its application. This includes an affidavit verified and signed by the company's secretary, a paid challan as evidence of the application fee, and a copy of the application sent to the Joint Registrar of Companies in Islamabad.
The company has requested that the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan consider the matter and grant permission for the AGM to be held on or before the proposed date of August 20, 2025. PIA Holding Company Limited has expressed gratitude to the regulatory body for its continued support and guidance throughout the process.
