Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced adjustments to the trading and settlement schedules for the deliverable future contracts (DFC) of JS Global Banking Sector ETF, impacting the months of August, September, and October 2024. This change comes following the disclosure of a book closure date for the company involved. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the revised dates are necessary to accommodate the book closure.
Originally set under PSX notices dated May 31, June 28, and July 26, 2024, the schedules for DFC-AUG-2024, DFC-SEP-2024, and DFC-OCT-2024 have been modified. Notably, the August contract for the JS Global Banking Sector ETF, initially scheduled to trade until August 30, 2024, will now conclude trading on August 22, 2024. The settlement is set for August 26.
For the contracts without entitlement benefits, identified as SEPB and OCTB, trading will begin on August 20, 2024. The SEPB contract will close on September 27, with settlement on October 1, while the OCTB contract will end on October 25, settling on October 29.
The PSX has stated that it retains the right to further modify these dates or adjust the duration of the contracts if necessary. Furthermore, it highlighted that trades of the JS Global Banking Sector ETF during the rollover period from August 20 to August 22 will be on an ex-benefit basis, thus not eligible for dividend entitlements.
All market participants are advised to take note of these changes and plan their trading activities accordingly.
