Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced an extension of the suspension in trading for the shares of M/s. Business & Industrial Insurance Company Limited. The continuation of the suspension, effective from August 4, 2025, comes as a result of the company’s ongoing failure to address regulatory non-compliances.
According to the PSX, the company has not fulfilled several key requirements, including holding its Annual General Meetings and submitting annual audited accounts. Additionally, the company has outstanding dues with the Exchange and is facing winding-up proceedings initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The initial suspension of trading was communicated in PSX Notice No.PSX/N-578, dated June 4, 2025. Despite the time elapsed, M/s. Business & Industrial Insurance Company Limited has not rectified the issues leading to the suspension. As per PSX regulations, this has necessitated the continuation of trading suspension for another 60 days or until compliance is achieved.
The decision has been executed under the authority of Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the regulatory body is committed to maintaining compliance and transparency within the designated market category.
The trading suspension will remain in effect until the company addresses the causes of suspension, or the period elapses, signaling PSX's adherence to regulatory enforcement.
