Air Link Communication Limited Reports Mixed Financial Results Amid Economic Recovery

Karachi: The Directors of Air Link Communication Limited have released the standalone and consolidated financial statements for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. This report comes amid a backdrop of gradual economic recovery in Pakistan, underpinned by stronger manufacturing, vehicle sales, agriculture, remittances, and improved international financing.

During the first quarter of FY2026-27, Pakistan experienced a 14% year-on-year increase in workers' remittances, reaching $10.9 billion from July to September. This has supported the country's reserves and external account, although imports have continued to outpace exports, widening the current-account deficit to $874 million and the goods-trade deficit to $9.3 billion. Inflation was recorded at 11.1% in August, driven by increased costs in food, energy, and transport, with elevated oil prices posing a significant near-term risk. Despite these challenges, Pakistan's external credibility has shown improvement with upgrades in credit ratings by S&P to B and Moody's to B3, along with higher reserves and the issuance of new Eurobonds.

In terms of financial performance, Air Link Communication Limited reported a 14.48% increase in standalone sales, reaching PKR 15,366 million from PKR 13,423 million in the same period last year. Earnings per share for the standalone entity rose to PKR 5.03 from PKR 1.54, reflecting a positive outcome for the company in this segment.

Conversely, the consolidated financial performance of the company showed a decline, with sales decreasing by 6.52% from PKR 24,402 million to PKR 22,811 million compared to the same period in the previous year. Consolidated earnings per share also decreased to PKR 2.58 from PKR 4.01.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the results exhibit a complex picture for Air Link Communication Limited as it navigates both growth and contraction within its business segments. The economic environment continues to present both opportunities and challenges, including high debt-servicing costs, reliance on oil imports, inflationary pressures, and the necessity to adhere to IMF-linked reforms.

Overall, the financial results highlight a mixed performance for Air Link Communication Limited, reflecting broader economic trends in Pakistan as the country seeks to stabilize and grow amidst ongoing fiscal and external challenges.
