BECO Steel Limited Reports Strong Financial Growth Amid Asset Decline

Karachi: BECO Steel Limited, a key player in the steel manufacturing sector, has released its financial results for the year ending June 30, 2026. The company reported a significant increase in profitability despite a slight decline in total assets. According to the report, BECO Steel Limited's total assets stood at 7.64 billion rupees, a decrease from the previous year's 7.67 billion rupees, marking a minor move of -0.39%.

The company's non-current assets amounted to 3.63 billion rupees, slightly down from 3.64 billion rupees in 2025. Current assets saw a marginal decline to 4.00 billion rupees from 4.02 billion rupees. However, the trade debts surged to 2.13 billion rupees from 1.38 billion rupees, underscoring the company's expanding credit sales.

BECO Steel Limited reported a revenue of 9.86 billion rupees, up from 7.45 billion rupees in the previous year. This very large move represents a substantial increase in its sales volume and market reach. The cost of sales also rose to 9.43 billion rupees from 7.07 billion rupees, reflecting the heightened production activity. The gross profit for the year was recorded at 426.97 million rupees, up from 386.26 million rupees, indicating an improvement in operational efficiency.

The company's operating profit increased to 267.70 million rupees from 251.37 million rupees. Finance costs rose to 14.82 million rupees from 5.79 million rupees, while other income saw a remarkable increase to 226.30 million rupees from 0.39 million rupees, contributing positively to the financial results. Profit before income tax and levies climbed to 442.27 million rupees from 218.30 million rupees, a big move reflecting the company's robust financial management.

Profit before income tax reached 370.53 million rupees, up from 179.76 million rupees. After accounting for taxation, the profit after tax for the year soared to 311.47 million rupees from 111.48 million rupees, demonstrating a very large move in net profitability.

The company reported basic and diluted earnings per share of 0.25 rupees, compared to 0.09 rupees in the previous year. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this represents a marked improvement in shareholder value and reflects positively on the company’s growth trajectory.

The comprehensive income for the year was recorded at 311.47 million rupees, maintaining the same level as the profit after tax due to the absence of other comprehensive income.
