Leather Up Limited Reports Increased Revenue Amid Growing Losses

Karachi: Leather Up Limited, a prominent player in the leather industry, released its financial results for the period ending June 30, 2026, revealing a significant increase in sales revenue despite mounting losses. According to the company's statement, sales revenue surged to 27.16 million rupees in 2026, up from 12.09 million rupees in 2025. This represents a very large or significant move of more than 124%.

Despite this substantial revenue growth, the company reported a gross profit of 2.05 million rupees, compared to 1.20 million rupees in the previous year. The increase in gross profit, however, was overshadowed by higher expenses. Administrative expenses were recorded at 5.73 million rupees, a slight decrease from the 5.79 million rupees reported in 2025. Distribution expenses increased to 641,215 rupees from 398,905 rupees, contributing to the total expenses of 6.37 million rupees for the year.

The company's operating loss narrowed to 4.33 million rupees from 4.99 million rupees in 2025. Despite this improvement, Leather Up Limited encountered a loss before income tax of 4.51 million rupees, which was slightly higher than the 4.32 million rupees reported last year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Leather Up Limited faced a minimum tax levy of 237,506 rupees, compared to 189,788 rupees in the previous year. This contributed to a pre-tax loss of 4.75 million rupees, up from 4.51 million rupees in 2025.

The company's loss per share, both basic and diluted, was recorded at 0.79 rupees, compared to 0.75 rupees in the previous year. This reflects the ongoing financial challenges the company is grappling with, despite the marked increase in sales revenue.

Leather Up Limited's financial results highlight the complexities of navigating operational costs and market demands in the leather industry. The company's ability to sustain revenue growth while addressing its financial losses will be crucial in determining its future performance in the market.
